Manila mayoral candidate and former environment secretary Lito Atienza Tuesday vowed to push for a green economic revolution in the city.

In a chance interview with reporters, Atienza laid out his platform which he claimed would improve the quality of life and environment in Manila by means of adopting a “greener” approach in the implementation of business in the city.

“Improving the quality of life of Manilans is the topmost priority of my administration should I win the elections.

When we say improvement, it is not only focusing on providing jobs, businesses, and other livelihood opportunities but also making the city a suitable place for people to live,” he explained.

To elaborate his environment-friendly projects, Atienza pointed out that he will be propagating the planting of herbal plants as well as the strict implementation of waste recycling, which he said could provide income for Manilans and at the same time save the environment.
